You are welcome to write about any subject, but positive, upbeat pieces that best reflect ALIVE‘s style are the most likely to be chosen. We will accept non-fiction, fiction, commentary, humor and poetry. Articles should be between 300 and 1,500 words in length. If you have high-resolution photographs or illustrations that you’d like to submit with your writing, we encourage you to include them. Articles should be typed in Microsoft Word, submitted as an attachment and emailed to editorial@aliveeastbay.com. By submitting your work, you grant ALIVE East Bay Magazine exclusive one-time rights to publish your work as a guest contributor. There is no monetary compensation offered or implied for these submissions, nor do we guarantee that your work will be selected or published. If you submit images, they should be emailed as attachments in high-resolution, pdf format. Good quality photographs to be scanned may be delivered in person or mailed to our office at 200 A Danville Blvd, Ste 204, Alamo, CA 94507. Mailed or delivered photographs will be returned upon request, if you include a self-addressed, stamped envelope with adequate postage. Be sure to include all contact information (name, mailing address, email address, phone number) with your submission.
