As we’re finishing up winter and heading into spring let’s talk athletic wear. Why? Well, because spring is usually that time of year when I get the itch to be super active! The sun is shining, it’s starting to warm up, and summer is on the horizon. It feels like that time to shed those holiday cookies and cozy winter meals.
One way to get me into the active spirit is to make sure I’ve got cute workout wear, because let’s face it, fashion exists in the athletic world and there’s a ton of super cute options! So why not take part, right?
Wearing a put-together athletic outfit does change the way I approach my time exercising. Sure, there are days I throw on one of my husband’s old t-shirts and sagging running tights. However, those are also the days I don’t “go to work” with my fitness routine. The days I kill it are the days I feel good and confident in the clothes I put on. If the rule applies to when we get dressed daily, whether that be for work, a dinner date, weekend outing, etc., then it surely applies when we exercise. We usually feel our best when we dress our best.
With that said I thought we’d discuss how to dress the part based on your budget because, truly, no matter the budget, there is fabulous, cute, and fun workout apparel out there—pieces that help to boost your energy and get you pumped for yoga, barre, TRX, or a boxing class. Or if you’re like me, you get dressed up for your free, at-home workout routines. I workout in my living room and still make the effort with my exercise attire because it’s not about anyone else. It’s not about impressing the people you see. It’s about setting yourself up for success and what you wear does play a part.
We’ve got two athletic outfits. Both are awesome. Both are at completely different price points. Regardless, you’ll feel cute and sassy! Take your class then head out and throw on your cotton hoodie. You’re now ready to run a few errands or pick the kiddos up from school. It’s not only cute for exercising; it’s presentable for those moments when the athletic gear becomes your look for the day. Whether you’re splurging or going the budget-friendly route, don’t be afraid to have fun with your athletic wear.
I will say sometimes price tags play a role in the quality of clothing. However, sometimes the more cost-effective pieces are just as good. So, test out the products. Head to the stores and try it all on. Practice those lunges in the dressing room to see if the leggings stay put. Do some jumping jacks to ensure the sports bra does the job. Then strut your stuff and head to your exercise class and kill it.
