The idea of “Popular Music” has been around for centuries. Mozart wrote “pop music.” His works were successful among the populace in the 1780s and are still hummed now. Billboard Magazine was founded in 1894 and Billboard’s Hot 100 still reflects the most popular music of today in America. Let’s get a little nostalgic with pop music of recent decades, going back in time…
1)“Chasing Cars” is considered the most popular song of the 21st century. It has had more radio play than any other song and spent hundreds of weeks on various charts throughout the world. Name the Irish-Scottish band that had this 2006 massive hit.
